Today is a Big Day!

Posted by Niall on April 6, 2014

Today is a big day, today is the day that the current European champions play host to our team, Leinster. This is a huge occasion to both the fans who have made the journey to the south of France and also to all those who will be watching at home in Ireland, not to mention the players and staff!  A place in the semi final is at stake…. Regardless of the outcome, only one thing is for certain for me today(and for countless others I’m sure); at 80 mins, vocal chords will burn, veins will throb and finger nails will be a thing of the past. Such is the beauty of this competition…. As a site created by Leinster fans FOR Leinster fans, we ask only one thing! Get behind your team, your province and, your country. Today is a big day, lets make it one to remember! COYBIB!!!

We will be tweeting updates throughout the game if you are unable to see it. You can follow us over at out Twitter

World Cup of Clubs?

Posted by Colm on August 27, 2013

It is being reported in France that Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal has made his wish a reality by arranging a February 2nd meeting between his European Champions and Super Rugby Champions the Wakaito Chiefs.

Despite ERC president Jean-Pierre Lux stating earlier this month :

“Under the terms of the European Rugby Cup participation agreement that they signed before the competition, the clubs do not have the right to play such a game as European champions especially against the winners of the Super 15, it is stated in the agreement. I totally understand that he wanted to do something, but Mr Boudjellal does not have the latitude to organise such a game. It’s a good idea”

Although I personally think the game is a great idea and would make a fantastic advertisement for the game, the proposed date of February 2nd clashes with the first round of the Six Nations. The same idea has been done in other sports, for instance in Rugby League and Football. Is it time for Union to step up to the plate?

Let us know what you think about the prospect of Leinster or any European team taking on the might of the Super Rugby Champions in the future.
