Short Ramblings…

Posted by Niall on November 29, 2014

It’s probably a very good thing that we see our provinces performance to date this year as below par or substandard. Heading into tomorrows game with the Ospreys I feel in no way confident of being able to take much from the fixture(How is that good? I know right!) So far this season very little seems to have “clicked” there has very few “Champaign rugby” moments and really no point at witch you might think “Right, we will build on this and start to get some momentum going… ”  Read more

Dragons Crest     23-16     Scarlets Crest

Man of the Match : Andrew Coombs (Dragons No.4)

Well it was the Dragons who got freaky Friday off to a great start when they ran in two early tries to take what proved to be an insurmountable lead over local rivals the Scarlets. The home side gave a defensive masterclass to prevent the Scarlets from winning in the first of the Welsh derbies this year. The Scarlets had battled back from 17-3 down after twenty minutes to only trail by a point after forty-five minutes but it was the Dragons who then absorbed the pressure and managed to extend their lead with two penalties. That win sees the Dragons break into the top four while the Scarlets have now lost two and are lagging in 9th. Early Days yet! Incase you missed it, check out the penalty that sealed the victory for the Dragons, What a Kick from Tom Prydie here : http://youtu.be/1_iJTWlc1RU

Rabo Pro 12 : Round 3 Preview

Posted by Colm on September 19, 2013

Match Day three of the Pro12 sees some exciting encounters. With three of last weeks games being decided in the final ten minutes the Rabo Pro12 has already served up some heart-stopping moments and hopefully this week gives us a few more.

Dragons Crest     -V-     Scarlets Crest

Friday 20th September, Rodney Parade, Kick Off: 7.15pm

A great start to the weekend with the first derby of the campaign coming from Rodney Parade when two Welsh sides meet for the first time this year. Both sides have won one and lost one in this years Pro12 and both will probably be happy with their form.

History shines on the Scarlets in this fixture having won the last ten meetings between the sides. However the Dragons will be brimming with confidence having seen off last year’s finalist Ulster at Rodney Parade earlier in the campaign.

Cardiff Crest     -V-     Zebre Cresty

Friday 20th September, Arms Park, Kick Off: 7.30pm

Cardiff Crest 21-10 Connacht Crest

Man of the Match : Rhys Patchell (Cardiff No.10)

21-year-old Rhys Patchell was the star of the show when Connacht visited Arms Park on Friday night. The Welsh fly half kicked all of the blues 21 points in a near perfect performance to secure Cardiff’s first win of this season.

Connacht made a bright start with a first half try and took a one point advantage into the half. However, they failed to add to their tally in the second half and picked up their first loss this term.

Ulster Crest 12-13 Glasgow

Man of the Match : Jonny Gray (Glasgow No.5)
