This week we had action from an inter-provincial derby, the final games of two cups and the sacking of a Welsh eejit. Read on for our weekly rugby digest and as always if you think we have missed anything just give us a shout in the comments below.
Leinster: This week the boys in blue entertained Connacht in the RDS. From where we were it didn’t provide much entertainment, Leinster narrowly coming away with the win in the final minuets. There were a lot of mistakes from the home side on the night and things don’t look all too sturdy heading into some crunch games with a seriously diminished squad.
This week in rugby saw the return of the Heineken cup! Will it be the last one ever staged? That argument has been played out so much over the last few weeks we are not even going to touch it here! All that matters for the moment is Its back!
Leinster: Our Boys in Blue traveled to Swansea this week with the stinging hangover that only a loss to Munster can serve up. Many thought they couldn’t get the job done against a strong Ospreys team – Many were Wrong! It wasn’t a classic but the 9-19 score line means that the home side were denied even a loosing bonus point. COYBIB! Up next Week is Castres at home in the RDS. Expect a few nonsensical tweets from us over on Twitter throughout the afternoon, as we’re sure the “excitement” will get to us.
Sean O’Brian: The Tullow tank gave a performance this week that was on parallel with the kind he dished out in 2011, when he took home the European player of the year award. SEAN! Keep it up! The Carlow bovine enthusiast also became an internet hit when an image of his massive hand off on Dan Biggar started doing the rounds.
Munster: It’s hard for a site with an ethos such as ours to devote an entire paragraph to our bitter rivals so we will keep it short: They lost to Edinburgh…. This made us Jovial for some time.
Berryman: Try of the week comes from the clash of Toulouse and Zebre. Toulouse ran out an easy victory and the game was done and dusted by the time the try was scored but if you haven’t seen it yet, give the video below a quick watch. Seeing this we wouldn’t be surprised if Dion Berryman became a household name in the WWE! Only time will tell. You can have a look at all the contenders for Try of the week over at the ERC Website
That’s all for this week folks, check back next week for more abridged rugby news, opinion and banter.
So here we are, back again for another fantastic week of rugby. The Rugby Championship may be done and dusted, but at last we have the Heineken (or H, depending where you’re visiting us from) Cup to keep us company through the cold winter months ahead.
