Rabo Pro 12 : Round 2 Preview

Posted by Colm on September 12, 2013

After last weekends opening fixtures, the Pro 12 rolls straight on into this weekend and round 2 :

Cardiff Crest     -V-     Connacht Crest

Friday 13th September : Arms Park, Kick Off : 7.05pm

Connacht will be the first visitors to Cardiff’s new artificial pitch on Friday night and will look to build on their opening day victory over Zebre. Recent history stands in their way however having only won 3 of their 20 previous encounters against the Welsh side.

The Blues earned a losing bonus point in Scotland last week against Glasgow during a promising performance which has pleased Director of Rugby Phil Davies. Cardiff’s recent run of results makes for less pleasant reading for Blues fans having only won one of their last nine Pro 12 matches. The home side will look to build on last weeks solid performance and secure a win in front of their home support.

Plastic Fantastic for Cardiff

Cardiff Blues today released pictures of their brand new pitch at their Arms Park stadium.

Following Aviva Premiership side Saracens, the Welsh side have opted to install a state of the art artificial pitch. At a estimated cost of £400.000, the Blues will hope the ground will help them improve on their 9th place finish from last season.
