The Week in Rugby

This week we had action from an inter-provincial derby, the final games of two cups and the sacking of a Welsh eejit. Read on for our weekly rugby digest and as always if you think we have missed anything just give us a shout in the comments below.

Leinster: This week the boys in blue entertained Connacht in the RDS. From where we were it didn’t provide much entertainment, Leinster narrowly coming away with the win in the final minuets. There were a lot of mistakes from the home side on the night and things don’t look all too sturdy heading into some crunch games with a seriously diminished squad.

Rugby Championship : Round 3 Preview

With three games down and three games to go in this years Rugby Championship, it’s still all to play for at the top with South Africa and New Zealand separated by a point. This weekends fixtures come with two clear headings, first up is the battle for the title when South Africa travel to Eden Park to take on the All Blacks. Secondly is the battle for the wooden spoon as a pointless Australia side welcome Argentina to Perth to see who’ll prop up this years table. Although nothing will be decided on Saturday with two more games to follow, this weekend victors will hold a huge advantage heading into the penultimate games.

Rugby Championship : Round 3 Preview

Down the Laighin may have a Leinster and IRFU focus but as Rugby fans we keep a keen eye on rugby from around the world. Here, we continue our look at the Southern Hemisphere’s international showpiece, The Rugby Championship.

After a week break, The Rugby Championship will return this weekend with the third round of fixtures. Round one and two have realistically narrowed down the likely winners to two teams, with New Zealand and South Africa still holding a 100 percent record in this years competition.
